It’s Christmas in Paris. It has not been snowing much though. Couple of flakes when I arrived but since then it has been relatively mild (and even rainy – crap.).

Anyhow, things got very lucky and we managed to do the tracking of first song’s drums last week thanks to the help of some good old friends. Alex is a chad+smith/mike+portnoy combo and that’s definitely what we needed for that song. Punchy groovy drums to push the song forward, yet with a hint of technicalities. That’s in the box. Recording was made possible thanks to Sylvain “SylverGroover” Tocque’s amazing studio and good vibes. You gotta love that vibe.

Things got even luckier when Alex hooked me up with long time friend Arthur Camion, the mastermind behind the band Sul’Shab and Just the Color Prod since 2003 (check it out, it kicks serious ass) and a fantastic bass player. Bass tracking sessions are planned for Jan 2nd, definitely looking forward to that.

Will probably do some rework with Sylv after that and it will already be time to fly back to Singapore with the rhythmic sections. Guitar, Voices and arranging works will then start, hopefully not dragging too long!

Fun continues. Wishing everyone a very happy new year.
